The MSLC's emphasis on interactive science provides the basis for our outreach activities. The MSLC hosts tours of its facilities for visiting K-12 students. Tours include physics and biology demonstrations and visits to our Exhibit Hall with its hands-on physics demonstrations. Programs for teachers are one segment of the MSLC's partnership with the Center for Math, Science and Computer Education. The MSLC provides the facilities for several summer programs for teachers jointly sponsored by CMSCE, and plans to enhance this role in the future by serving as a resource center for science teaching. The MSLC provides an arena ideally suited to bringing University faculty together with K-12 teachers, working toward making the transition between precollege and college science teaching as seamless as possible.
